Doing nothing is sometimes the thing we need to do most on holiday! But if you do tear yourself away from the pool there are lots of interesting things to see and do: Fantastic blue flag beaches and hidden coves, The Dali Museum in Figueres and Dalis' house in Port Lligat which have to be seen to be believed! The ‘Aqua Brava’ water park (open June to September) and F1/F2 Go-Karting are both 5 minutes away. A short drive will take you along a mountainous road to the pretty village of Cadaques. Greek and Roman ruins of Empuries can be found near L’Escala. A short drive into the foothills of the Pyrenees takes you to the pretty medieval village of Besalu. The city Gerona with its Cathedral and Jewish quarter make a fascinating day trip. Further afield, Barcelona can be reached by train from Figueres or by car in an easy 90 minute drive. The French border is 20 minutes by car and Perpignan 45 minutes . |
